2018 Agricultural
Labour Market Information (LMI) Survey

*|END:WEB_VIDEO|*
To assist in addressing labour-related issues, the Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) is conducting a Labour Market Information survey of Canada’s agricultural workforce. As a follow-up to the 2014 Labour Market Information research survey, the 2018 study will provide up-to-date labour market intelligence to the agricultural industry with new national, provincial and commodity-specific forecasts of agricultural labour supply and demand to 2029.

Farm Business Owners

For farm business owners, or farm managers completing the survey on behalf of the owner. By taking part in the survey, producers will ensure their operational workforce needs are included to create effective policies and programs that address labour shortages.

Farm Workers

For family members working in the farm business, paid or unpaid, or non-family workers hired by the farm business. One of the goals of this survey is to ask employees about improving job satisfaction to reduce employee turnover rates. We’d welcome your thoughts.

Other Stakeholders

For provincial governments, agricultural sector councils, associations, commodity groups, labour organizations and researchers. As part of the agriculture industry, you rely on the success of producers and their ability to secure a sustainable workforce. We’d appreciate your opinion.

With a growing workforce crisis on our hands, agriculture in Canada is at a crossroads. Its future depends on finding reliable, qualified workers. Help us with finding solutions to labour shortages.

The Canadian Agricultural Human Resource Council (CAHRC) provides national leadership to address current and emerging issues in the agricultural workforce. On behalf of the Council, The Conference Board of Canada is conducting this survey to learn more about people working in the agricultural sector in Canada.

The survey should take up to 20 minutes to complete. More time may be needed for farms and firms with larger numbers of workers. The deadline to complete the survey is December 14th, 2018.

Your participation is completely confidential and voluntary. The information submitted will not be used to identify you or your business/operation directly or indirectly.
